Trebor Employees Build a House Instead of Heaters & Pumps

The team at Trebor recently joined together to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity in Orem, Utah (USA). Habitat for Humanity relies on volunteers to help with the construction of these homes, and the employees at Trebor – a unit of IDEX that serves high-purity fluid transfer and heating applications, primarily in the semiconductor industry – were more than happy to lend a hand.

The group of 20 employees kicked things off at the construction site at 8 a.m., where they were greeted by the Habitat for Humanity staff and received instruction on their tasks.  Everyone was split into teams, some working on the exterior siding and others on the sheetrock.

• Putting up siding involves attaching panels or boards to the exterior of a house. It is an important part of the construction process, as it helps protect the home from the elements.
• Sheetrock, also known as drywall, is used to create walls and ceilings inside the home.

By working together, the team made strides with the siding and sheetrock. They worked tirelessly throughout the day, taking breaks only to hydrate and refuel. Despite the hard work, everyone smiled, knowing they were making a difference in a family’s life.

The Habitat for Humanity staff introduced them to the family, who expressed their deep gratitude for helping to build the house they will soon call home. The employees at Trebor left the construction site feeling proud of what they had accomplished.

Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity is a great way for companies to give back to their communities. It not only helps those in need, but it also promotes teamwork and camaraderie among employees.
